Wyatt and his playtime

Wyatt loves his play time, almost as much as his story time at night.  As Wyatt was getting ready for bed the other night, and cleaning up, it must have been easier to wear the toys than carry them to put them away.
Oh yeah, sometimes Wyatt gets daddy involved too
And on a different note,  this last weekend we were able to introduce Wyatt to his new cousin Lincoln.
Just a few things that are noteworthy:
-Wyatt vocabulary is getting crazy!!  Some words are, like with all kids, hard to understand, but he knows exactly what he is saying.
-One of Wyatts recurring patterns is to look at pictures, and list everyone in them.  He is right shockingly often.

18 months.....already!

Yesterday we had Wyatts 18 month appointment to the doctor.  He got the second Hepatitis A shot, and was not overly thrilled with that experience, but otherwise did well.

Weight was 29# 4oz, 85%.
Height was 33", 60%.
Head size was 19", 65%.

Today, on the way home from daycare, I turned and asked Wyatt, "What are we going to do tonight Wyatt?"
Quickly, he responded, "Eat.  Pitha!!!"
Jean stopped and got pizza on her way home.

Later tonight, Wyatt is doing his nightly ritual of finding a new place for every toy we have in the living room, when he grabs two of his stuffed monkeys, comes over to the couch, puts them on the couch, and proclaims, "One, Two!  Two monkeys!"

This picture was taken Thursday morning.  As Wyatt was playing, he grabbed his monkey, his blanket, and his two hats.  One hat for the monkey, one for him.

Weekend with the family

This past weekend, we headed down to the St. Cloud area to spend some time with the family.  We had not been back there since early January, and it was really nice to see everyone.

We left late Friday, after we had fed Wyatt some "Pitha" (Pizza for those of you not familiar with Wyatt lingo quite yet), and giving him a bath.  We had decided to do it this way, so Wyatt would be close to his bedtime when he hit the car, and would maybe sleep for the ride.  He was asleep before we got out of town.  Friday night we arrived at Papa and Nana Kaproths, Wyatt spent some time showing them all the things he had learned, and went to be about an hour after arriving.

Saturday morning, Jean and Nana Jan were off to Tracys baby shower.  Wyatt got to hang out with Papa Joe and daddy for awhile, including a trip to the local watering hole (Goodfellas Bar and Grill) for some lunch.  After lunch, Wyatt and I went and visited Great Grandma Dolores.  He always loves having an audience!!

Saturday afternoon, Papa Joe rode over to Cold Spring with Wyatt and I for some dinner at the Franks.  Wyatt got to see most of the uncle and aunts, and all of his cousins on the Frank side.  He ran and played with Keagan all night.  On the way back to Foley, he crashed hard.

Sunday morning, we were invited to have breakfast with the Chapmans.  It was really good to see them again.  We sat and talked, as Wyatt tried to show Evan how it was all done.  After a bit of time, Evan reminded Wyatt how nice it is to sit back, and watch the world pass you by......
As you can see, Evan is quite the ham, especially when the camera comes out!

After breakfast, it was back to Foley to load up the car, have some lunch, and watch a bit of NASCAR before heading back north.  Wyatt slept in the car, and was good for the time he was awake.  It is so nice knowing your child can handle the lifestyle you live!

Today at daycare, they celebrated Mardi-Gras.  Wyatt got to make a mask, and pick out the colors.  Surprisingly to both Jean and I, when he was asked what colors, he said "Yellow" and "Red".  We were surprised by this, because no matter what color we ask Wyatt to name, his first answer is always "Purple".

End of February

We are trying to get back into the swing of things with more regular blog updates.  Please bear with us.

On Valentines day, we sent Wyatt to daycare in a shirt that Jean and I both love.  I saw this in a store when Wyatt was about 2 months old, and HAD to buy it.  I guess the time to wear it came at exactly the right time of year....

Thats right folks, we are warning you ahead of time "Lock up your Daughters"

For Christmas, grandma and grandpa Kaproth made Wyatt a "Wyatt sized" table and chairs.  This has gotten to be a fun place for Wyatt to do his "Dot Dot Dots".  The old blueprints I get at work also make the cleanup much easier as well.
DOT-DOT-DOT!!!

A photo we just had to add:

This weekend, Wyatt also took a bit of a tumble.  As near as we can tell, his tooth went through his lower lip.  He is in great spirits, and does not seem to be slowed down by the recent "Owie".  Not even his eating.
Its hard to see, but there is a pretty good wound inside his mouth, and even a small wound on the outside of his lip.

A large update to make up for lost time

I know it has been a long time, and there is a lot to catch up on, and I will do my best not to miss anything.

It has been a crazy ride with Wyatt.  Over the summer, Wyatt learned to walk (at 10 months), learned he LOVED the water, and all around entertained us.

Wyatt has learned that there are 2 speeds in life:  Sleeping, and running.  This tends to keep mom and dad on their feet, and constantly going as well.  When Wyatts bedtime comes around, and he is all cuddled in for the night, a collective sigh of relief comes, as we finally get our break in the day.

As summer led to fall, Wyatts first birthday was upon us.  He already had alot of monkeys........

but we decided to go with a monkey theme anyway.  He seemed to enjoy it.

Wyatt helping dad get ready for a BWCA trip.  I think I see a future canoeist in the family!!

Making a Jack-0-Lantern.  More honestly, looking for something to eat.
