The last few days.....

Since our last post, Wyatt has had many visitors. The weekend of the 20th we had Aunt Amy, and Uncle Brad visit from Saturday into Sunday.  Wyatt enjoyed showing off all the abilities he had learned since he last saw them.  Unfortunately, the one thing he had not learned was telling mom and dad "Maybe you should take a picture of this", and thus, we have no photos of the visit.  On Sunday the 21st Wyatt loaded Jean and I into the car and said, "Take me to Ruby!", which worked out well, as it was the day of her baptism!

On Monday night, Lisa, Dan, Mary and cousin Keagan came up to visit for a few days!  Another playmate!!

What up Cuz?!?!?!

This weekend, we had a pretty laid back time on Saturday.  Wyatt enjoyed just playing by himself, and entertaining his parents all day!

All too soon I will be able to do this all on my own mom!!

I didnt do ANYTHING!!!

Well, maybe that smell was me!

As the day turned to night, I suggested to Jean, that Wyatt, when he cleaned up his bowl of cereal and green beans, get a bonus of a taste of bananas.  What kid wouldn't like the taste of bananas when all they have had was veggies?
I guess, that would be Wyatt!!

Today, Grandpa and Grandma Kaproth made the trip north to have some computer problems solved.  (I think it was just an excuse, as the computer repairs were not the priority once they walked in the door.)  Wyatt wore himself out showing off for his grandparents, and will more than likely be looking forward to the week at daycare to relax!

Our journey continues!

Our time since last entry has been as uneventful as life can be with such a youngster.  On Sunday the 14th, Wyatt experienced his first Daytona 500, and seemed to enjoy it!

There is something about bright shiny cars I think that would get any guy interested.

Monday morning, we sent Wyatt to daycare as a happy little boy, and he returned home that evening with what seems to be another cold.  He is in good spirits, but seems to be stuffed up.  As we looked back at some pictures, we noticed how long his hair has gotten.

Wyatt is a roller.  By that, I mean, he doesn't lay still.  If you lay him on the floor, DO NOT TURN YOUR BACK!!  As fast as you can turn around to grab something, he has rolled across the room, and is laughing at you from under the rocking chair.  He has even decided that sleeping on his back is not the way to go.  He has taken after dad, and sleeps on his tummy.  At daycare, we were told today, it is very common that he wiggles one foot outside the crib and sleeps like that.  Guess I can't really say that surprises me either.

Today, we also decided it was time for Wyatt to start "training his palate". He got to try his first flavor of food.

Yep, hes an eater....
his first taste....
 And shortly after.......

He seems to like anything we give him so far!!!

One more photo that kind of explains itself, and gives us a glimpse into what Wyatts personality may bring us.

They REALLY DO grow up quick!!

Well, here we are, Feb. 10th.  Today is officially Wyatts 5 month birthday.  It does not seem anywhere close to that!!

This last week or so our happy son has been back.  Besides the fact that he was no longer sleeping through the night (he would wake up for an approx. 2am feeding), it was like he was never sick.  On Friday, we ventured south, and spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa Kaproths to break up the trip to Willmar MN for a wedding.  Saturday, we headed out of Foley, and to Cold Spring for a little Frank family time, as well as to pick up our babysitter for the night, before venturing off to the wedding.  We took Wyatt with us to the ceremony, and he was a great boy through the whole thing!  No noises, no fussiness, just a happy baby.  After the ceremony, we went back to the hotel, aunt Tracy said she would like to take him to the pool for a bit.

Tracy stayed with Wyatt for the night, as we went to the reception, and dance.  He was very tired, and Tracy reported that he was a good boy all night.
We stopped by Litchfield on our way back north and had Breakfast at Main Street Cafe, which Lisa and Dan own.  After a bit more time there, and a delicious meal, we ventured back into the snow, and to Foley to see Jill, Tyler, and of course, Ruby.

While in Foley, we picked up the car that we purchased from Jill and Tyler for Jean, and had lunch with the family.  We left early to try to beat as much of the storm as we could, as well as to get home to watch the Super Bowl.

We also decided it was time to try to get Wyatt on a cereal diet, and that we would try every night at supper time to see how he handled it.

I am thinking he is OK with it.......

This morning, on Wyatts birthday, we also had a little surprise FROM Wyatt.
He is now (OK, so far just once, but hey it happened) holding his bottle by himself.

And, some birthday photos.

The smiles are returning.....

Since last Sunday, we have seen a different side of Wyatt.  As the week went on, his nights of sleeping through the night were becoming non-existent again, and he just did not seem to be his chipper self.  On Wednesday, his eyes started to look "goopy" and we were concerned for his health.  As I woke him up on Thursday, his eyes matted shut, and his breathing sounding very labored, I mentioned to Jean that maybe we should bring him in.  She talked to his doctor, who by the way is the BEST DOCTOR EVER!, and she fit him into her already booked schedule to check on his well-being.  When I arrived at the daycare to pick him up, a sign was hung on the door, notifying parents that "There is three cases of Croup, and one confirmed case of Bacterial Pneumonia in the infant room".  GREAT!  As Dr. Schaefer first laid eyes on Wyatt, she mentions  that this is not the Wyatt she remembers.  She looked him over, and said she wanted to put him on Prednisone, Azithromycin, and a nebulizer.  She said he was headed down the road of the Pneumonia, but not quite there yet.  We got home Thursday and got Wyatt started on the solution!!  He is not a big fan of the medicine via syringes, but is getting better with them.  The nebulizer went well the first time, he got fussy about it after that, and lately, holds it in front of his mouth himself!  He seems to be much better after a Friday at home with dad, and Monday home with mom just to make sure he gets well!! Thank you for all the concern, prayers, and well wishes.  Wyatt smiles whenever he gets to talk to his distant family on the phone to hear their support (followed shortly after with him attempting to eat the phone).

This bath photo was too cute to ignore.
